1. I think that I would prefer to teach in a classroom with more technology. There are so many reasons why I would prefer having the technology in the classroom with me. Having the technology in that classroom I think helps the kids learn more and it makes the class more entertaining. None of the students just want to sit there and read from the book or just watch the teacher write on the board the whole time. It would be a plus for me because I am good with technology and I would be able to put it to good use in the classroom. I think the technology that would help the most in the classroom are items that can connect to the internet or have items on them that can be school related. Also, if there is a scanner in the classroom, it will make the students lives easier if they are not there, so they can just scan someones notes to their computer or they can just have them emailed to them form someone else in the class.
2. Traditional Audio - talking book
Traditional Emerging - Ipod
Visual Audio - Real objects (posters and pictures)
Visual Emerging - overhead projector
I think the talking book would be best for really young children because they will be able to hear the words that are being said and they could potentially start repeating the words after they hear it a few times. The Ipod would be best used to for older students that are in the harder classes because they would be able to get apps that would help them in the long run be able to study. They would also be able to just get the book right on their Ipod, if they really wanted too. I think the real object is a really fun way for the students to interact with each other and they are able to learn the information they are talking about by putting it on a poster board. I think it makes life easier too when you have to present the information to the class. The overhead projector would be best used for the teachers rather than the students. The teachers would be able to write their notes on the clear filler paper and would be able to project it against the wall. It makes life much easier for the students and they are more likely to be able to read and understand the information better.
